The Dept of Social care has announced new sanctions put in place to deter people from committing benefit fraud.

Anyone caught could now have their benefits stopped for up to 4 weeks and if caught a second time could be extended to 3 months.

The sanctions also include stopping payments to anyone who is abusive or threatening to staff in benefits offices.
