The Isle of Man Queenie Fishery is to close from the start of January.

The Queenie Management Board has confirmed it will not except queenies fished from Isle of Man waters as part of a directed fishery.

The closure won't prevent queenies being landed as part of a by-catch.

The Department of Environment Food and Agriculture  says appropriate legislation will be introduce in due course
