Education Minister confirms playing field roadway plans

The Education Minister has confirmed his Department is considering allowing a roadway to be built on Michael Primary School's playing fields.
Eddie Teare confirmed that Dandara has approached the Department of Education and Children about the land.
If the DEC agreed, the land at Douglas Road Corner would be swapped with a neighbouring field, resulting in an addition 1.1 acres being transferred to the Department.
Mr Teare says the village's Commissioners are in favour of the land swap, and have asked to see plans.
Dandara initially requested such a swap in 2007 to 2008, but was turned down.
