Christmas lights switched on this evening

Preparing for a lantern parade when the lights were switched on last year
Christmas arrives in Douglas this evening, as the town's Christmas lights are switched on.
Mayor of Douglas Ritchie McNicholl will turn them on at 7pm.
Santa will be in his grotto on Ridgeway Street from 6pm.
Ridgeway Street will be closed to traffic from 6pm until 10pm.
This evening also marks the first night of late-night Christmas Shopping
