Coastguard called out to suspicous object

Douglas Coastguard's Immediate Response Team was called out last night after a suspicious object was washed up on Douglas Beach.
The item, which had been reported by a member of the public, was inspected by Coastguard Officers as soon as the tide allowed access.
The object, a cylinder approximately 20 inches long with a diameter of approximately 4 inches, was inspected and declared safe to remove.
