Funding for Jurby GP surgery approved

The new surgery is to be built on the site of the former Jurby Hotel
Tynwald has approved a £1.6million GP surgery for Jurby after a lengthy debate.
Chairman of Michael Commissioners Stephen Hamer called for the funds to be divided between Jurby and Kirk Michael so both areas could have medical facilities.
MHK John Houghton asked that the motion be put back, so the Department of Health could look into Mr Hamer's suggestion, however he failed to gain enough support.
