An airline serving the Isle of Man has taken the first steps to come out of examinership.

Aer Arann has announced that it has signed a conditional investment agreement with an unknown backer to try and bring the company back into the black.

The High Court has approved an extension to the airline's state of examinership to allow a permanent deal to be struck.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne welcomed the news.
