Manx anglers who have visited the South East of England recently are being urged to wash down all of there fishing gear before using it at home.

A killer shrimp has been spotted in a reservoir in Cambridgeshire that has the potential to destroy native wildlife and reduce bio diversity in Manx rivers, should it be brought across.

A government spokesman said: "The island would be vulnerable to the invader as its preferred habitat is rocky with fast flowing water".
