Douglas Coastguard was called out to investigate a suspect object this morning.

The crew on Tarroo Ushtey - a Harbour Division works vessel - reported the object to the Marine Operations Centre at around 6.30.

The silver cylinder was around 18 inches long with a black cable, and was seen in the harbour bed next to the Douglas Lifeboat Station.

The Coastguard determined that it was safe to remove the object and took it for disposal.
