The Social Care Minister is to present a list of options for those needing care at Southlands by the end of the year.
Martyn Quayle has been under pressure from the Rushen MHKs, who say the facility is under-utilised.
Quintin Gill says the needs of his constituents are un-met, as not enough of them can be accomodated in Southlands at present.
The Department of Social Care runs four residential homes on the Island, including Southlands in Port St Mary.
