The First Deemster of the Isle of Man has died.
Mike Kerruish lost his battle against a long term illness in the early hours
Tynwald members held a silence before the start of today's sitting.
President of Tynwald Noel Cringle paid tribute to the Deemster, who also held the roles of Clerk of the Rolls of Tynwald and Deputy Governor of the Island.
Mr Cringle says Deemster Kerruish gave him confidence when he took up the role of president [play clip]
