Onchan to hold public meeting on Eastern Area Plan

Onchan Commissioners are giving residents an opportunity to have their say on proposals which could alter the size of the district for years to come.
 
A public meeting has been organised by the local authority next month to discuss the Eastern Area Plan with members of the public.
 
It will take place at ‘The Hub’ in Onchan from 6:30pm on the 14 August.
 
Chairman Robin Turton says all views will be taken onboard ahead of the start of the area plan inquiry in September, which is being chaired by independent inspector Mike Hurley.
 
Sites zoned for development under the plan which could prove a major talking point for ratepayers include an area at Ballachrink, where 200 new homes could be built.
