Police urge motorists to stick to the limit

Police are urging motorists to watch their speed during TT fortnight.

Isle of Man Road's Policing Unit dealt with eight drivers for speeding on Monday.

Officers have been carrying out speed checks in various locations along the Douglas - Laxey - Ramsey coast road.

Two drivers were fined for using a mobile phone at the wheel.

A force spokesperson said: "Driver distraction is the number one cause of road traffic collisions, even more so than drink driving."

"There is no excuse for putting your own and others lives at risk unnecessarily. Switch it off or put it out of reach."
