£25,000 donated to three local charities

£25,000 has been donated to three Isle of Man charities.

Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man received £12,500, Rebecca House Children’s Hospice £7,500, and Live At Home £5,000. The funds are from Zurich International’s 2018 annual charity grant awards. Every year staff are asked to choose the local organisations they wish to support.

Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man will be using their donation to help provide information, services and support to the 1,300 people with dementia and their carers on the Isle of Man.

Rebecca House Children’s Hospice is going to train staff in ‘Bobath Therapy’ which helps children with cerebral palsy and other allied neurological conditions.

Live at Home Chief Executive Jackie Bridson said: “The money received from Zurich International will be ploughed back into the work of Live at Home tackling social isolation and loneliness and will help us to further develop and run our 40 monthly social activities and events around the Isle of Man."
