Pair forced to swim to safety after kayak capsizes

A man and his stepson were forced to swim to safety after their kayak capsized in the west of the Island.

Port Erin lifeboat were called out to Niarbyl Point at just after 3pm on Monday.

The pair were able to make it back to the shoreline after being in the water for several minutes.

They were treated for the effects of cold water but did not need hospital treatment.

Crews recovered the kayak and transported it back to the harbour.
