CALM delighted Abortion Bill passed

The Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation (CALM) has said its delighted that the Abortion Reform Bill has now been passed and is now part of Isle of Man law.

Yesterday, it was announced Dr Alex Allinson's Abortion Reform Act had received Royal Assent, meaning that the UK's Ministry of Justice has given its approval.

A spokesperson for CALM told Energy FM News: "It's taken 24 years to update this cruel, discriminative law and decriminalise abortion and make abortion care part of reproductive healthcare."

"The Abortion Reform Act now needs to be enacted by the Department of Health and Social Care."

The government is yet to announce when the new law will be introduced.
