MUA New Rates Sees Toilet Tax Double While Water Rates Are Reduced.
A new pricing strategy from Manx Utilities is proposing inflation only increases for water, sewage and electricity prices for domestic customers over the next five years.
The charges for water and sewage would be rebalanced to reflect the cost of these services with a cut in water rates of more than 32%. However the controversial sewerage rates daubed 'the toilet tax', will double.
The charges are subject to Tynwald approval.
