Police use of tasers revealed in FOI release

Police officers on the Isle of Man have been forced to use tasers on five different occasions in the past three years.

The Isle of Man Constabulary revealed the information, following a Freedom of Information Request.

Tasers were used on two occasions in the past nine months - one on a dangerous animal and another on a person.

The weapon was also discharged twice in 2017 and once in 2015.

Officers have carried tasers on the Island since 2011 when they were introduced by the constabulary.
