'Bud' Jackson Inquest opens tomorrow

The inquest into the death of a popular bike racer will open tomorrow.

Alan 'Bud' Jackson died as a result of injuries sustained during a Senior Classic TT practice session last month.

The 62-year-old from Kendal in Cumbria was an experienced and regular competitor on the Isle of Man, having made his Manx Grand Prix debut in 1979.

He had four wins during his career, most recently in 1998 in the Classic Lightweight, as well as six other podiums.

His highest TT finish was in 1990 when he secured a fifth in the Ultra Lightweight TT.

Coroner of Inquests, Jayne Hughes, will open proceedings at Douglas Courthouse tomorrow afternoon.
