Lifeboat helps boat, kayak at Chapel Beach

One of the Island's lifeboat crews was called out after a motorboat and kayak washed onto rocks in the south of the Island.

Port St Mary's inshore lifeboat was launched to the rocks off Chapel Beach in Gansey yesterday lunchtime.

The boat had been towing a kayak when it broke down and washed onto the rocks.

The vessel was able to get its motor running again and was escorted back to the beach by the lifeboat before the RNLI crew returned to the station 30 minutes after launching.
