Baby lemur born at wildlife park

A critically endangered lemur has given birth at the Curraghs Wildlife Park just three months after being involved in a fire that killed two other lemurs.

The park has announced the birth of Phoenix, revealing they didn't know the female lemur was pregnant at the time of the fire.

A breeding pair survived April's fire, but their two previous offspring died.

The gentle lemurs are listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, meaning it faces a high risk of extinction in the wild.
