Peel lifeboat rescues stranded fishing vessel

A lifeboat team was called out to help a fishing vessel that had lost all hydraulics three miles off the Island's coast.

Peel RNLI crews received the call shortly before 9pm on Sunday after the vessel was left unable to steer just north of Port Erin.

Those on board the local fishing vessel were ok, so the lifeboat towed the boat back to Peel.

The lifeboat crews helped secure the vessel alongside Peel breakwater and returned to the station shortly after midnight.
