Exam board to give special consideration after exam text mix-up

Students who were taught the wrong text for their iGCSE English Literature exam at one of the Island's secondary schools will be given special consideration by the exam board.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has announced those affected at Castle Rushen High School will not have the drama component included in their grade.

Some Year 11 students were affected after being taught the 2017 text rather than the 2018 set-text.

Cambridge International Examinations will grade the affected students on the poetry and prose exams as well as coursework.

The school has apologised to those affected and launched a review into the situation.
