Lifeboat rescues injured teenager from beach

Peel lifeboat crew was called out to rescue a teenager needing medical treatment from the beach.

The team was called to a beach next to the old Victorian swimming baths at around 11pm on Friday.

Two crew members with first aid training used a smaller boat to reach the injured youngster and make him more comfortable.

The teenager needed to be transferred to an ambulance, so he was placed on a stretcher and transported by the lifeboat back to Peel breakwater, where the paramedics were waiting.
