Coastguard tackles oil leak in harbour

Peel Coastguard was called out after a member of the public reported a large amount of oil sheen in the harbour.

The team identified a vessel that was leaking oil, deploying absorbent booms around the boat.

Another boom had to be deployed near the flapgate in the harbour to soak up oil that had drifted away from the vessel.

Crews returned back to the coastguard station almost three hours after being called out.
