Manx Government working with EU to avoid tax blacklist

The Chief Minister says the Manx Government is working with the European Union to ensure it remains off the tax blacklist.

The Island committed to ensure those conducting business in the Isle of Man have sufficient economic substance in order to avoid being listed as a non-co-operative jurisdiction.

The Government is speaking to the EU's Code of Conduct Group to determine exactly what is required to comply.

Howard Quayle insists the EU can't require the Island to change its tax rate, and that any necessary legislative changes will be consulted on.
