14 people seriously injured on Manx ships in 2017

14 people were left with serious injuries on board Manx-registered ships last year.

The Isle of Man Ship Registry has revealed its annual report, including details of casualties and accidents on board vessels registered with the Manx authorities.

A total of 28 incidents resulting in 30 casualty cases were reported to the Ship Registry, but none of the incidents resulted in death.

The registry carried out six safety investigations as a result of the injuries, including two after a passenger ship made heavy contact with a quay while arriving in port and two after carrier ships were involved in collisions with other vessels.

Over 400 ships are registered with the body.
