£80m Harbour Improvement Strategy Announced by DOI
The Department of Infrastructure has published a three year programme of works totalling just over £80 Million pounds to improve the Islands Harbour facilities.
The DOI say that the are seeking approval from Tynwald for a number of schemes including an £11 million pound deep water berth in Douglas Harbour.
Other works include provision of facilities at Ramsey, Peel and Castletown and also a 24 hour Marina in Port St Mary.
The Department for Enterprise has backed the proposals saying that a deep water berth could attract up to 30,000 additional visitors per year.
