Health Minister asked to outline savings plans

The Health Minister will be asked the outline his plans for savings in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan revealed in the recent budget that the Department of Health and Social Care would look to make savings of £7m in the next financial year.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper wants to know what David Ashford plans to do to meet the figure in addition to the plans outlined by former Health Minister Kate Beecroft last year.

The DHSC was given a budget increase of £5.5m for the 2018-19 financial year, but has overspent by more than £30m in the last three years.
