McCanney, Atkinson win top prizes at Sports Awards
Enduro World Championship rider Jamie McCanney and swimmer Charlotte Atkinson have been named Isle of Man Sportsman and Woman of the Year for 2017.
The duo received the prizes at the Isle of Man Sports Awards, where five-time Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds was the guest of honour.
McCanney finished as runner-up in the Enduro 2 championship last year, while Atkinson won two British titles before making her debut at the FINA World Championships.
Cyclist Mark Cavendish won the Isle of Man Ambassador award, while fellow cyclists Tara Ferguson and Matthew Bostock won the under 21 awards.
The late Murray Lambden was also honoured, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
