Driver carrying four back-seat passengers fined

Police are reminding drivers of the dangers of carrying too many passengers after stopping a motorist with four people on their backseat on the Mountain Road.

The Vauxhall Corsa was pulled over at Kate's Cottage after officers noticed the car was heavy at the back.

A closer inspection revealed four back-seat passengers with bags full of football kit and footballs.

Officers says they can't excuse the danger posed to the guys piled in the back, insisting it would have been cheaper to pay for a taxi.

An endorsable fixed penalty notice with three penalty points and a £120 fine was issued.
