Sailings go ahead despite weather warning

This morning's sailing to Heysham will go ahead as scheduled despite a warning about the weather conditions in the Irish Sea.

The Steam Packet Company initially warned all of today's crossings could face disruption, but the service to the Lancashire port and return sailing at 2.15pm are unaffected following a review this morning.

Another decision will be made by 5pm to determine whether the 7.45pm crossing to Heysham can go ahead, along with the return service at 2.15am tomorrow.

The Steam Packet expects the weather conditions could continue to affect their services tomorrow.

Winds are forecast to reach gale force eight today, put could reach up to storm 10 tomorrow.
