Football club wants to build extension

One of the Island's football clubs wants to build an extension to its clubhouse to allow more people to use its facilities.

Peel Football Club has applied for planning permission to add a first-floor extension to the Tommy Clucas Community Sports Hall on Douglas Road.

The extension would be over the changing rooms and gym, and include new toilets and a clubroom that can be split in two and equipped for multi use.

The plans also include the addition of a viewing area above the entrance area of the sports hall.

The club says other sports teams in the area have previously asked about using their clubroom, but they currently don't have the space.
