Cyclist dies following Poortown Road crash
A cyclist has died following a crash in the west of the Island this morning.
The local male was taken to hospital following the collision on the Poortown Road near the old quarry entrance at around 8.30am, but later died as a result of injuries sustained.
The incident also involved a car driven by a local woman - the driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured.
The road is now open again after remaining closed for several hours while police carried out investigations into the collision.
