Motorists urged to look out for cyclists
Motorists are being urged to look out for cyclists following a recent incident which left a rider with serious injuries.
Officers from the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team are calling for drivers to be patient and make sure cyclists are given enough space when overtaking.
The appeal comes after a man was left with a serious head injury, broken ribs, a punctured lung and a leg injury which needed surgery.
The police confirmed the cyclist is recovering well, and also released a picture of his bicycle to show the impact a low-speed collision can have.
