OFT warns of false car park painting offer
The Island's Office of Fair Trading is warning of tradesmen making false claims.
The OFT has been contacted by businesses who have been approached by workers offering to paint white lines on their car parks.
The tradesmen claim to be subcontractors of the Department of Infrastructure with materials left over from other jobs, but the DoI hasn't employed a firm to carry out such work.
The organisation warns those cold calling and making false claims may be committing offences under the Trade Descriptions Act.
Any businesses who have been approached can contact the OFT on 686500 for further advice.
