Mental health rest facility re-opens

A rest facility for those with mental health issues re-opened after undergoing a £200,000 refurbishment.

Brunswick Gardens gives those who use the Island's Mental Health Service a space to undertake a range of activities, including gardening, wood working and ornamental projects.

The new facility also includes office space, a kitchen and dining area and a multi-function room.

The Ballamona Association for Mental Health provided £105,000 towards the project.

It had previously been feared the facility, which first opened in 2002, would have to close after falling into disrepair, but the Department has now agreed a 14-year lease with the owners of the site.
