DHSC seeks feedback on National Health and Care Service plans

The Department of Health and Social Care is planning to bring in a National Health and Care Service.

The service would replace the existing National Health Service, with its Charter being reassessed every five years.

The plans include ensuring mental health is given to same importance as physical health, ensuring everyone has equal access to treatments regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality, as well as ensuring information about its services is widely available.

The Department also wants to make the NHSC a better place for its staff to work, committing to investing in training and education, and including staff in decision making.

The Department has published the proposed Charter, but wants feedback from the public before taking the Bill to Tynwald.

The full details of the Charter can be found on the Government's website, and feedback can be submitted to the DHSC until September 12th.
