Tynwald to discuss prom, ferry services and housing

The reconstruction of Douglas promenade, the future of the Island's sea services and a new housing scheme are among the items to be discussed in Tynwald today.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer will ask for approval for a £20.73m scheme to reconstruct Douglas promenade.

The Minister is also asking Tynwald to note but reject an offer on the future of the Island's ferry services from the Steam Packet Company.

Meanwhile, Oral health, teacher training and the minimum wage are among the topics up for discussion on the question paper.

The Island's parliament meets for the final time before the summer break from 10.30am.
