Tynwald to consider 30-year infrastructure plan

A plan for the Island's infrastructure needs over the next 30 years will be presented to Tynwald this month.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer will ask for approval for a National Infrastructure Strategy at July's sitting.

The strategy includes an audit which says the Island's current infrastructure is in good condition, but that it's important to ensure it keeps pace with the economy, technology and climate.

The DoI hopes the strategy will help it plan future capital schemes, including building and replacing strategic assets.

The plan also focuses on value for money, and encourages private and public sector organisations to work together.

Tynwald members will be asked to vote on the strategy next week.
