DHSC seeks funding for new adult day services facility

The Department of Health and Social Care will seek permission to spend £5m building a new facility for adult social services.

The day services hub would be built within the Noble's Hospital Estate in Braddan.

Day services are currently split across four sites - three in Douglas and one in Ramsey. Services from the Eastcliffe Resource Centre and Greenfield Garden Centre would be moved to the new site.

The Department says the new facility will allow it to provide more modern adult social services which focus on meaningful activity and employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

Health Minister Kate Beecroft will ask Tynwald for approval at this month's sitting.
