Police investigate theft of plants, ornaments from grave

Police are appealing for information after thieves took plants and ornaments from a grave an memorial bench in Peel.

A plant pot with a holly bush as well as personal ornaments were taken from the grave in Peel Cemetery, while silk flowers and more ornaments have been taken from the bench at the Raggatt.

Officers revealed the widow of the person whose grave the items were taken from hasn't been able to go back to the bench since the items were stolen as seeing it bare would be too difficult.

Police say the items are very personal and that the thefts have caused a large amount of distress to the family.

Anyone who can help the police's investigation is asked to contact Peel Police Station.
