Viking silver goes on display after treasure trove inquest
14 pieces of silver found be a local metal detectorist are to be displayed at the Manx Museum.
The Viking items are from around 950 AD, and were declared Treasure Trove by the Coroner of Inquests earlier this week.
Manx National Heritage says the pieces are silver arm-rings that would have been worn to display wealth by viking traders.
The rings could be used as payment, with chunks of silver being hacked off before coins became widely used.
The silver will be on display until early August.
