Health officials warn of extra strong ecstasy on Island

The Island's public health bosses are warning that two particularly strong forms of ecstasy are likely to be circulating on the Isle of Man.

The two types of MDMA have been circulating in the North West and Jersey, and are unusually potent.

Those from the North West are known as magic or pink champagne and come in crystal form, while the tablets from Jersey are blue and yellow and stamped with the word "IKEA".

The Public Health Directorate warns both strains can cause severe or fatal toxicity in small doses, or are likely to be circulating on the Island.

Anyone who thinks they may have taken such a drug or knows someone who is showing symptoms should call an ambulance immediately.
