Coastguard offers advice to Tower of Refuge swimmers

Members of Douglas Coastguard were called out last night after a group of youths were spotted swimming out to the tower of refuge.

The team received the alert shortly before 6pm, but the youngsters had made their way back to shore by the time crews arrived.

The Coastguard still dispatched their mobile unit to speak to the group, warning them of the dangers of attempting to swim to the Tower.

The team was able to stand down by 6.30pm.
