Minister says courts can deal with escort agencies

The Minister for Policy and Reform believes the courts are best place to deal with escort agencies.

Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson asked whether there were any plans to regulate escort agencies at this month's sitting of Tynwald.

However, Chris Thomas says it would be a substantial decision to bring in a regulatory regime for such agencies.

Mr Thomas added that in some cases it's best to leave things to the courts, and there isn't enough evidence to support the development of a regulatory regime.

A website promoting Island-based women providing escort services recently gained attention on social media.
