Cavendish returns to action after illness

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish has returned to action after three months on the sidelines with illness.

The Dimension Data rider was diagnosed with glandular fever earlier this year.

Cavendish is competing at the Tour de Slovenie, securing a 10th-placed finish on the opening stage of the four-day race.

The 32-year-old is also due to compete at the British National Road Championships on the Isle of Man next weekend.
