Lifeboat tows stricken yacht back to Douglas

Douglas lifeboat crew was called out for the third time in two days after a yacht became stranded off the coast of the Island's capital.

The boat left Douglas yesterday morning with three people on board, but the wind ripped the vessel's mainsail before the engine overheated.

The yacht called for assistance shortly after 9.30, with those on board suffering from sea sickness.

The lifeboat was able to tow the vessel back to Douglas, where the Coastguard was waiting to provide further assistance.
