Inflation jumps up to 3.9%

Inflation on the Isle of Man almost doubled during May.

The Manx Government revealed the Consumer Prices Index rose from 2.1% at the end of April to 3.9% at the end of May.

The Cabinet Office says the cost of travel to and from the Island, eating out and recreational activities have all seen big rises over the last 12 months.

Pork, oil and painkillers are also pricier than at the same time last year, but eggs, internet subscriptions and household consumables have all fallen in price.
