Tributes paid to local athlete

Tributes have been paid to a well known sportsman who has passed away.

Murray Lambden was universally known in local athletics and represented the Island in the 1982 Commonwealth Games.

People from the sporting community took to social media last night to reveal their shock at his death but spoke of a man who was universally loved in sporting circles - he was "Mr Manx Athletics".

Isle of Man Journalist Bill Dale said that Murray was ‘an absolute one-off, a very caring man and a true sporting legend’.

Latterly Murray was heavily involved in photographing and videoing events for his website and was known to be out come rain, hail or shine.

He leaves a wife Marie and sons Robbie and Ben.
